เมื่อวันที่ ๒๙ พฤษภาคม ๒๕๖๗ พลอากาศเอก สถิตย์พงษ์ สุขวิมล ราชเลขานุการในพระองค์พระบาทสมเด็จพระเจ้าอยู่หัว ได้เป็นประธานในกิจกรรมจิตอาสาปลูกต้นไม้เฉลิมพระเกียรติ พระบาทสมเด็จพระเจ้าอยู่หัว เนื่องในโอกาสพระราชพิธีมหามงคลเฉลิมพระชนมพรรษา ๖ รอบ ๒๘ กรกฎาคม ๒๕๖๗ ณ อุทยานเฉลิมพระเกียรติพระบาทสมเด็จพระบรมชนกาธิเบศร มหาภูมิพลอดุลยเดชมหาราช บรมนาถบพิตร โดยกระทรวงมหาดไทยได้ขอพระราชทานพระบรมราชานุญาตนำพันธุ์ไม้มงคลประจำจังหวัดทั่วประเทศมาปลูกในบริเวณอุทยานเฉลิมพระเกียรติฯ และกระทรวงการต่างประเทศได้ขอพระราชทานพระบรมราชานุญาตนำคณะทูตานุทูตและกงสุลต่างประเทศที่มีถิ่นพำนักในประเทศไทยมาร่วมปลูกพันธุ์ไม้มงคลประจำจังหวัดต่าง ๆ ณ อุทยานแห่งนี้ด้วย เพื่อเฉลิมพระเกียรติพระบาทสมเด็จพระเจ้าอยู่หัว ในมหามงคลสมัยอันพิเศษนี้

ผู้เข้าร่วมกิจกรรมเฉลิมพระเกียรติครั้งนี้ ประกอบด้วย นายมาริษ เสงี่ยมพงษ์ รัฐมนตรีว่าการกระทรวงการต่างประเทศ ปลัดกระทรวงและคณะผู้บริหารกระทรวงการต่างประเทศ คณะทูตานุทูตที่มีถิ่นพำนักในประเทศไทย ๗๑ ประเทศ ผู้แทนคณะกรรมาธิการเศรษฐกิจและสังคมแห่งสหประชาชาติสำหรับเอเชียและแปซิฟิก หรือ UNESCAP ปลัดกระทรวงและคณะผู้บริหารกระทรวงมหาดไทย ผู้ว่าราชการจังหวัด ๗๖ จังหวัด ผู้ว่าราชการ ปลัด และคณะผู้บริหารกรุงเทพมหานคร ปลัดกระทรวงและคณะผู้บริหารกระทรวงทรัพยากรธรรมชาติและสิ่งแวดล้อม คณะผู้บริหารกระทรวงเกษตรและสหกรณ์ ตลอดจนบริษัทในพระปรมาภิไธย ๑๒ บริษัท และหน่วยงานที่เกี่ยวข้อง อาทิ บริษัท ปตท. จำกัด (มหาชน) บริษัท ปูนซิเมนต์ไทย จำกัด (มหาชน) สมาคมศิษย์เก่าจิตรลดาในพระราชูปถัมภ์ฯ โรงเรียนจิตรลดา สถาบันเทคโนโลยีจิตรลดา และจิตอาสา
ต้นไม้ที่นำมาปลูกในกิจกรรมเฉลิมพระเกียรติครั้งนี้ ประกอบด้วยต้นไม้ประจำจังหวัด ๗๗ จังหวัด และพันธุ์ไม้หายาก โดยแบ่งปลูกเป็นโซนตามภูมิภาคของประเทศ เช่น พะยูง อินทนิลน้ำ กัลปพฤกษ์ มะค่าแต้ ลำดวน รัง ประดู่ป่า หูกวาง พะยอม ศรีตรัง อบเชย จันทน์หอม นนทรี ปาริชาติ สุพรรณิการ์ ตะแบก พิกุล มะเกลือ กาสะลองคำ
อุทยานเฉลิมพระเกียรติพระบาทสมเด็จพระบรมชนกาธิเบศร มหาภูมิพลอดุลยเดชมหาราช บรมนาถบพิตรตั้งอยู่ในพื้นที่เขตพระราชฐานที่พระบาทสมเด็จพระเจ้าอยู่หัวพระราชทานให้เป็นสวนสาธารณะ เพื่อเฉลิมพระเกียรติพระบาทสมเด็จพระบรมชนกาธิเบศร มหาภูมิพลอดุลยเดชมหาราช บรมนาถบพิตร และสมเด็จพระนางเจ้าสิริกิติ์ พระบรมราชินีนาถ พระบรมราชชนนีพันปีหลวง ออกแบบภูมิสถาปัตยกรรมตามแบบอย่างโครงการอันเนื่องมาจากพระราชดำริ เพื่อเป็นแหล่งเรียนรู้ให้ประชาชนได้เข้าไปศึกษาพระราชกรณียกิจของทั้งสองพระองค์ ผ่านองค์ความรู้เรื่องน้ำและป่า ซึ่งสะท้อนถึงพระราชปณิธานในเรื่องการส่งเสริมคุณภาพชีวิตและการอนุรักษ์สิ่งแวดล้อม ตลอดจนพระอัจฉริยภาพและบทบาทของสถาบันพระมหากษัตริย์ไทยในการส่งเสริมความตระหนักรู้ของสังคมในด้านการอนุรักษ์สิ่งแวดล้อม การปลูกต้นไม้ และการลดมลภาวะต่อโลก เพื่อนำไปสู่การพัฒนาที่ยั่งยืน

The Tree-Planting Activity to Celebrate the Auspicious Occasion of His Majesty the King’s 6th Cycle Birthday Anniversary 28th July 2024 at King Rama IX Memorial Park
On 29 May 2024, Air Chief Marshal Satitpong Sukvimol, His Majesty’s Principal Private Secretary, presided over the tree-planting activity to celebrate the auspicious occasion of His Majesty the King’s 6th Cycle Birthday Anniversary 28th July 2024 at King Rama IX Memorial Park. The Ministry of Interior has requested the royal permission to plant auspicious trees from provinces all over the country in the King Rama IX Memorial Park. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs has also requested the royal permission to invite members of the Diplomatic Corps in Thailand to participate in the said activity on this auspicious occasion.
This activity was attended by H.E. Mr. Maris Sangiampongsa, Minister of Foreign Affairs; Permanent Secretary and executives of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs; members of the Diplomatic Corps in Thailand from 71 countries; representative from the United Nations Economic and Social Commission for Asia and the Pacific or UNESCAP; Permanent Secretary and executives of the Ministry of Interior; Governors from 76 provinces; Governor, Permanent Secretary and executives of the Bangkok Metropolitan Administration; Permanent Secretary and executives of the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment; and executives of the Ministry of Agriculture and Cooperatives. Also in attendance were 12 companies under Royal Warrant of Appointment and related agencies such as PTT Public Company Limited; Siam Cement Public Company Limited or SCG; Chitralada Alumni Association under the Royal Patronage; Chitralada School; Chitralada Institute of Technology; as well as volunteers.
Trees planted in this activity consist of the Province’s Tree from all 77 provinces in Thailand and rare plant species. The planting is divided into zones according to the region of the country such as Rosewood, Inthaninnam, Kanlapaphruek, Macatae, Lamduan, Rang, Pradupa, Malabar, Phayom, Sri Trang, Cinnamon, Chanhom, Nonsi, Parichat, Supannikar, Tabak, Phikun, Ebony, Kasalongkham.
King Rama IX Memorial Park is located in the Royal Grounds that His Majesty the King has bestowed as a public park in honour of His Majesty King Bhumibol Adulyadej the Great and Her Majesty Queen Sirikit The Queen Mother. The design of the landscape architecture is inspired by the Royal-Initiated Projects, in order to be the source of learning for the public to study the Royal Activities of Their Majesties through knowledge about water and forests. It also reflects Their Majesties’ aspiration in promoting the quality of life and in preserving the environment as well as Their Majesties’ ingenuity and the role of the Thai monarchy in raising the public awareness on environmental conservation, tree-planting and reduction of global pollution conducive to sustainable development.
