On 29 September 2022, APEC 2022 Task Force, Ministry of Foreign Affairs, organised the 2nd Advance Visit at the Queen Sirikit National Convention Center to provide updates on Thailand’s preparation ahead of the APEC Economic Leaders’ Week (AELW). The briefing, given by Head of APEC 2022 Task Force, Information Director-General, Chief of Protocol, and concerned officials, included the program plan, registration, security measures, health and safety protocols, Media Center, and media accreditation, among others. The meeting was attended by over 200 participants comprising of representatives from APEC member economies, Guests of the Host, and APEC Secretariat.
In the afternoon, MFA officials and APEC delegations departed for site inspections at key APEC venues, such as the airports, the Royal Thai Navy Convention Hall where the Gala Dinner will be held, and Arts of the Kingdom Museum where Spouses’ Program will take place.
APEC delegates expressed confidence in Thailand’s diligent efforts to set up the stages for the AELW as well as previous meetings throughout her host year. The highly anticipated AELW is vital to Asia-Pacific’s post-pandemic recovery and sustainable development through Thailand’s initiatives as reflected in the theme “Open. Connect. Balance.” and the Bangkok Goals on BCG Economy to be endorsed at the upcoming Meeting.
