To all Diplomatic Missions and International Organisations,
Following the Declaration of the Emergency Situation in all areas of the Kingdom of Thailand and Regulation No.1 issued on 25 March 2020 due to the COVID-19 outbreak situation, it has been determined that the current situation has necessitated the Prime Minister to declare, on 2 April 2020, a nationwide curfew to control the further spread of the COVID-19 (Regulations No.2) as follows:
1. No persons shall leave their residence and premises between 22.00 – 04.00 hrs., effective as of 3 April 2020 until further notice. Exceptions will be made for those performing duties in the following cases: medical, banking, transporting consumer goods, agricultural products, drugs and medical equipment, newspapers, fuel, parcel post, items for import and export, the movement of persons under quarantine (in accordance with laws and regulations on prevention of communicable diseases), night-shift workers, travels from and to airports with evidence stating necessity of travel, and authorities performing duties related to these regulations.
Violations are liable to a sentence of up to two years and/or a fine of up to 40,000 baht.
2. Existing provincial orders or announcements which have stricter requirements, shall remain in effect.
3. Individuals on their way traveling out of the Kingdom of Thailand and are found affected by the curfew, will be quarantined at stations set up by the Provincial Communicable Disease Committee or the Bangkok Communicable Disease Committee in accordance with related conditions and timeframe set in order to prevent the further spread of the disease.
