To all diplomatic missions, consular representatives and international organizations,
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs would like to update all Diplomatic Missions and International Organizations on measures against the spread of the Coronavirus Disease 2019 in Thailand as follows:
1. The Bangkok Metropolitan Administration’s Announcement on Containment of COVID – 19 Infections, issued on 23 March 2020, on additional recommendations to residents in Bangkok, to help reduce the risk of Coronavirus Disease 2019 (COVID-19) infections, taking effect from Monday 23 March 2020, summary as follows:
1.1 Avoidance of unnecessary travel outside Bangkok;
1.2 Staying at home and maintaining personal hygiene;
1.3 Cooperation from government, state enterprises, businesses and other sectors to implement precautionary measures in the work place in response to COVID-19;
1.4 Compliance of those who attended events or venues that have reported infections and have been identified as high-risk locations, as well as those who have been in close proximity with COVID-19 patients to self-isolate and monitor symptoms. If symptoms such as fever, tiredness, or dry coughing occur,
to seek medical attention.
1.5 Avoidance of crowded areas and maintaining a physical distance of at least 1-2 metres from other individuals;
1.6 Cooperation from government offices, state enterprises, private sectors to cancel mass gatherings, events, meetings, conferences or seminars;
1.7 Cooperation from all public transport agencies to implement measures to reduce crowding and risk of infections, such as increasing ticket counters, increasing frequency of transport services, thorough sanitizing of public areas, body temperature screening, providing more hand sanitizer service points, and efficient waste management.
2. Additional advice from the Ministry of Public Health on: (1) How to sterilize home environment and live with those who are quarantined or self-monitoring; (2) How to monitor your symptoms during quarantine or self-monitoring at home; (3) List of laboratory network performing tests for SARS-CoV-2 causing COVID-19, which includes 35 laboratories that have passed proficiency testing.
