On 3 November 2019, Associate Professor Naraporn Chan-o-cha led the spouses of the leaders of ASEAN Member States and External Partners to visit an exhibition on waste management, jointly organised by the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment, SCG, and PTT Global Chemical. The exhibition visit was followed by an interactive seminar on “Sharing Best Practices on Waste Management”, at IMPACT Mueng Thong Thani in Nonthaburi. The seminar began with an opening statement by Associate Professor Naraphon Chan-o-cha, remarks by H.E. Mr. Warawut Silpa-a-cha, Minister of Natural Resources and Environment, representatives from the youth, the government sector, the private sector and the public, after which the spouses of leaders engaged in an interactive discussion and shared best practices on waste management. This activity is one of the programmes prepared by the Royal Thai Government during the 35th ASEAN Summit and Related Summits to welcome the spouses and foster friendship between Thailand and participating countries. The spouse programmes also serve as an opportunity for Thailand to showcase Thai cultures and strengths to the international audience.
